You're sitting outside when you notice that the seat you're in isn't quite as comfortable as when first got them. You want something to make your outdoor sitting more comfortable, but what? A cushion is the ideal solution but outdoor furniture cushions take a lot of abuse. Rain soaks them. The sun beats down on them. And, if you have children, they are likely to get stained from outdoor picnics and those times when they confuse your cushion for things like a sled or a frisbee. But what if you could get a cushion that resists fading and staining?

Cushion Source is proud to offer premium outdoor furniture cushions made from high quality Sunbrella® acrylic fabric. With a warranty against fading for 5-10 years and fabric that is easier to clean than many vinyl fabrics, Sunbrella fabric is the ideal choice for your outdoor furniture cushions.

Cushion Source uses a layered-polyester fiber material as filling for all of our outdoor cushions. The material is densified and bonded with a low-melt fiber for added strength. These fibers will not hold water, nor do they mold or mildew as foam filling often does. Inside and out, our cushions are of the highest quality available. A foam filling is also available, but we recommend that it only be used if you plan to take you cushions inside and not leave them in the elements.

Cushion Source also makes cushions for indoors. All of our cushions made with Sunbrella fabrics work great indoors as well as outdoors. Sunbrella works great for window seat cushions. These cushions can sit in the window for years and you will not see any fading, GUARANTEED! We also offer a wide selection of cotton and polyester fabrics that are not suitable for extended outdoor use, but they are perfect for indoor applications. The reason we call these beautiful fabrics "indoor fabrics" is they will fade over time if left in the sun, and they are not stain resistant, but they are perfect in most indoor situations. For indoor cushions, you can choose between cumulus filling or foam filling. The foam filling is slightly firmer than a cumulus filled cushion of the same thickness.

Building your cushion

We can make a cushion for virtually any seat you want with a cushion. From wicker (sometimes called rattan or settee) to chaise loungers to simple chair cushions, we cover it all. Since most all of our cushions are custom made, you get the cushion you want instead of having to make do with a boiler plate, mass produced style and size. Custom cushions cannot be returned. Please measure carefully. Templates are always welcome.

Chairs

Patio Cushion

We offer two types of chair cushions. The first is individual seat and back units. These are ideal for people who only need one or the other or cushion. Some people simply like the option of allowing their guests of forgoing one or the other cushion. If you are going to be purchasing separate seat and back chair cushions please remember to subtract the thickness of the bottom cushion from the length of the back cushion.

Chair Cushion The second type is a seat and back connected. This option is less expensive than purchasing both the seat and back separately.

To Measure: Measure from the end of one cushion to the other. Then repeat for the width. Please note that some chairs take a trapezoidal shape where the front edge of the chair is wider than the back.

Edging

Edging comes in two basic styles:
Knife Edge CushionKnife Edge
Fabric is wrapped around the edges and sewn together
Box Edge CushionBox Edge (shown with optional double cording)
A strip of fabric is used to create a side wall

Along with edging comes the option for cording. Cording is a band of fabric that runs around the edge of your cushion (typically following a seam). The cording does not have to be of the same fabric as the cushion. Single cording is available on knife edging and double piping is available only on box edging. Please be aware that cording does add quite a bit of cost to cushion prices.
