Your Fabric, Your Cushions - Made Just for You

We offer thousands of in-stock fabric options - and we're always adding more - but we know we can't carry every fabric under the sun. If you've got something special in mind, we make it easy to use your own material. Whether it's a designer print, a performance fabric you sourced yourself, or just something that perfectly fits your space, we're happy to turn it into cushions made just for you.

It's called COM - Customer's Own Material - and it's easier than you might think.

Step 1: Choose "Customer Fabric" in the Builder

As you're designing your cushion, click "Choose a different fabric" in the fabric section. The first option you'll see is Customer Fabric (COMFAB). Select it to let us know you'll be sending your own material.

Step 2: Get a Yardage Estimate

compare fabric estimate

When you select COMFAB, we'll provide a yardage estimate based on a standard 54" fabric width with a generous pattern repeat assumption. This helps avoid production delays - but often overestimates the amount you need, especially if your fabric is a solid or has a small repeat.

For the best estimate, we recommend calling us before you send your fabric. Our team can give you a more accurate number if you can provide the fabric's roll width, X and Y pattern repeat, and whether the fabric is directional. It's a quick step that could save you fabric and money.

You can send fabric as cut pieces or a full roll. If you're using multiple fabrics (e.g., one for the main body and another for welting), please label each one. And if your fabric has a front/back or needs to run in a specific direction, be sure to include those instructions as well.

Step 3: Ship Your Fabric to Us

Shipping COM Fabric

Once your order is placed, send your fabric to the address below:

Cushion Source®
Attn: COM Orders
3521 Wetumpka Hwy
Montgomery, AL 36110-2717

Include a copy of your invoice if possible. If not, please include a note with your name, order number, shipping address, phone number, and email so we can match your fabric to your order. We recommend using a trackable shipping service for peace of mind.

What Happens Next

Once we receive your fabric, production typically takes 15-20 business days. After that, your cushions will ship with standard ground service, which may take up to 5 business days depending on your location.

There's a $25 COM handling fee per order, which covers up to three different fabrics. Each additional fabric adds $25. The price of your cushion stays the same - you're simply swapping in your own material instead of using one of ours.

We aim to use your fabric as efficiently as possible. If the fabric you send isn't enough, we'll pause your order and reach out to discuss options. Please note that any excess fabric will be discarded unless otherwise requested before your order is placed.

The Fine Print

We accept most commercially available fabrics. However, sheer fabrics, texelene, or other specialty materials may not be suitable for cushion construction. If we encounter issues with availability or usability, we may need to adjust or cancel your order.

Cushion Source is not liable for customer-supplied fabric that is lost or damaged during shipping or production. Maximum reimbursement is limited to $50 per yard, and proof of purchase may be required.
