When we are in the middle of a harsh winter and cold temperatures, the dreams of springtime, and the color that it brings, tiptoe through our minds. Pantone must have had the same dream when they announced EMERALD as the Color of the Year. This brilliant color provides a fresh approach but is grounded in traditional roots. Our inspiration for The Drawing Board stems from this color.
So many times if you use ordinary colors in a new way, the result can be quite energizing. This is our direction by starting with a Robert Allen fabric, Magnus Mineral Green. Meandering vines with stylistic leaves provide an inspirational organic feel. Then we added a microvelvet in a rich wood color and finished off the room with two fabrics with unusual patterns. The first is Robert Allen’s Malakos Malachite, a stunning imitation of the natural stone. Finally, a slightly iridescent fabric that mimics wood grain with it’s texture.
When envisioning this glorious breakfast nook, we recommend adding furniture in medium toned woods. Add “jewelry” in the room with brass hardware and a brass light fixture. Your room will sure to be a show stopper and definitely reflect the current trends.
