April Color of the Month: Mimosa

It’s finally April, which means the days are becoming longer, the weeks go on, and the weather is finally becoming enjoyable enough to spend time outside. For me, that means it’s time to start heading up to the lake every weekend to soak up some sun.

For April’s color of the month I have chosen Pantone’s Mimosa. Described as a warm, engaging yellow, it’s perfect for this time of year. Yellow is such a bright and cheerful color, it can work in any part of your house.

Recently, I found an awesome article in Better Homes and Gardens about how to decorate with yellow. They showed many different shades of yellow in different areas of the house. For more decorating ideas, many people use Pinterest, but I have recently come to love Houzz for home-related ideas. Check out this simple, but gorgeous kitchen I found through Houzz. I love how they used all of the neutrals with pops of yellow to add color.

On a recent photo shoot, we brought a set of lumbar pillows in Sunbrella Echo Citron that we ended up using so much more than we had originally planned. It was the perfect accent for everything! Our fabric gallery has plenty of different options of yellow.
