We’re starting a series of posts on a few of our favorite cities throughout the country to see how we can use inspiration from them to create some beautiful rooms. I wanted to start in one of my personal favorite places: New Orleans
New Orleans is a city of mystique – deeply rooted in its history are French, Spanish, and African influences complementing each other and creating a culture that is mesmerizing. Created as the birthplace of Jazz, the Big Easy is bursting with music, great food, markets that are chock full of precious finds. Of course, let’s not forget to mention VooDoo, the spirit which drips from every corner of the city in a way that is absolutely spellbinding (pun intended).
Below we utilized a jazzy mix of purples, golds, and blues to create a room that is festive without being over the top. One of my personal favorite items is the custom coverlet that is featured here in Robert Allen’s Floral Sonata Berry Blast. This fabric is reminiscent of a Mardi Gras parade – beads and confetti flowing everywhere. The rich purple of Sunbrella’s Fife Plum is muted enough to be neutral or you could pair it with a lot of white to make a bold, glam look!
Let your imagination flow.
