In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I found it fitting to write about how to incorporate pink in your home d\u00e9cor. There are several ways to add pink without transforming your home into Barbie\u2019s Dreamhouse. With a little imagination, pink can become a versatile hue. Whether you prefer a classic, whimsical, or eclectic look, this color can help you achieve your vision. <\/p>\n

Pink + Black and White<\/strong>
\nPairing pink with black and white generates a crisp, classic appearance with a touch of playfulness. The flirty hue breaks up the rigidity of the black and white to create a softer look. I found an image on Houzz that perfectly demonstrates how to use pink with black and white. These designers perked up a conservative pool area with bold black and white striped chaise lounge cushions coupled with hot pink throw pillows and umbrellas.<\/p>\n

Pink + Mixed Colors and Patterns<\/strong>
\nPink can be added to a mix of colors and patterns for a cheerful, whimsical look. Pink is perfect in this d\u00e9cor scheme because it blends into the design rather than stick out. While mixing colors and patterns can appear to be a daunting task, it is actually not as difficult as one would think. I always start with a light neutral base. In the image below, you can see that this designer started with a white bedspread and off-white walls. The fabrics you choose will feature this neutral color within their designs. Be sure to choose fabric colors that are similar in tones, whether warm or cool. Also remember to select a variety of pattern types instead of sticking with one. For instance, choose flowing organic designs to pair with geometric patterns.<\/p>\n

Pink + Jewel Tones<\/strong>
\nPink also works beautifully with an eclectic mix of jewel tones. Rather than worrying about what goes with what, this designer has selected fabrics to his heart\u2019s content. The varying shades of sapphire pink in the coffee table ottoman combine beautifully with the muted shades of brown, gray, black, and white. Instead of standing alone in its boldness, the pink hues share the spotlight with bright blue, fuchsia, and yellow-green.<\/p>\n
