As stated in our previous blog, #trending: 2014 Color Trends<\/a>, jewel tones are huge this year. One that has recently caught my eye is teal. While turquoise is always a great go-to for an extra splash of color, teal provides extra drama to your d\u00e9cor. Like turquoise, this darker hue can be used in a variety of settings no matter your style. Teal is a little more sophisticated and provides a certain glam factor that dresses up your space without coming across as too formal. <\/p>\n

My personal favorite way to use teal is by pairing it with neutrals. By using teal with neutrals, you can give this beautiful color the spotlight it deserves. While looking through photos on Houzz.com<\/a>, I came across a room that displays teal idyllically. This room, designed by Erin Williamson, is furnished with a neutral mid-century sofa and leopard print rug accented by stunning teal walls and teal rattan shelving. Perfect.<\/p>\n

Teal can be used not only with neutrals, but also with an array of colors. I found another image on Houzz that shows off this intriguing hue alongside several other colors. In this photo, Hillary Thomas Designs demonstrates how to combine colors by pairing teal walls with a sofa upholstered in a blush-colored velvet much like our very own Velvet Coral<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Inspired by this intense color, I created a couple of images featuring some of our own teal and neutral fabrics.<\/p>\n
