The European pinch pleat curtain is a variation of the traditional pinch pleat where the drape is sewn at the top of the drape giving a tailored pleat that opens allowing a beautiful flow of the fabric. Pinch pleat curtains are hand pleated, pre-pinned and ready for installation. Our silk curtains provide a clean look when open or closed. Use the European Pleat with decorative rods and rings for a functional, highly decorative alternative to traditional traverse draperies. "Drapery Width" is the total area in width that you want your drape to cover (The width of the opening in which you are covering). Custom width and length options ensure a perfect fit!
Functional Curtains/panels/drapes: A curtain or set of curtains that will open or close across your windows.
Stationary Curtains/panels/drapes: A curtain or set of curtains that are used for style and design. These curtains will not be used to open and close, but instead to enhance the beauty of your room.
Curtain Lengths:
Floor Length: The curtains are positioned 1/2" off the floor for a more traditional, tailored look. This length is best for traversing curtains. To measure for Floor Length curtains, measure from the bottom of your pole to 1/2" above the floor.
Trouser Length: The curtains are positioned at floor level. This length is best for stationary curtains. Stationary panels are not recommended to be moved. To measure for Trouser Length curtains, measure from the bottom of your pole to floor level.
Puddle Length: The curtains have approximately 4"- 8" in length added beyond the floor. This length will set off a more dramatic look and is best for stationary panels. Stationary panels are not recommended to be moved. To measure for Puddle Length curtains, measure from the bottom of your pole to the floor. Add 4"- 8" to your length, depending on how much you want your curtains to puddle.
Silk color may vary from the sample piece received. This fabric is HAND DYED and HAND WOVEN. The colors from shipment to shipment may vary between 5% - 7%. The dye lots are only about 100 yards per batch. Hand-loom silk dupioni have weaving irregularities like SLUBS, BARRES and LOOPS. These are characteristic of the fabric and are inherent.
