We start our Optimal Comfort cushion process with our quality upholstery foam as the cushion core. The core is layered with MicroGel Memory Foam on top and bottom which provides the cushion the option of reversibility. We then wrap the cushion on the bottom, top and front with 1" poly fiber batting for further plushness (see note below). By placing the batting in these specific areas, we can ensure that the cushion may be placed side by side without bulging, giving your chaise a clean uniform appearance. Next, the cushion filling is enclosed inside weather-resistant, Hanes cotton/polyester ticking. The ticking features a Teflon finish, making it perfect for the outdoors and indoors.
Because the double chaise cushion you need does not meet our standard shapes online, you will need to mail us a template. Our seasoned sewers can make virtually any shape cushion, but you will need to make sure your template is accurate. We recommend placing the template on your chaise lounge to make sure it fits properly. Don't forget to measure each break of your chaise. Measurements do not include thickness of welting.
The batting feature of Optimal Comfort will add ½ to 1 inch of loft to your cushion. This loft occurs on both the top and bottom but not on the banding (sides). The amount of loft depends on the size of the cushion and the fabrics selected. The measurement of thickness will be taken seam to seam on the banding and does not include the loft added by the batting feature. Please consider this when selecting your cushion thickness.
