What type of foam filler do we use in our custom indoor cushions?

Foam specification sheet foam type:

B36 date: 1/7/2007 typical physical properties average color white may vary slight density 1.20 pounds per cubic foot indentation force deflection: 25% deflection 33--39 lbs per 50 square inches, sample size 15" x 15" x 4" 65% deflection 87 lbs per 50 square inches, sample size 15" x 15" x 4" support factor 2.0 65% IFD/25% IFD hysteresis 59 % porosity (air flow) 4.5 cubic feet per minute rebound 41 % tensile strength n/a pounds per square inch tear resistance n/a pounds per inch ultimate elongation n/a % compression set: 90% deflection 9.5 % height loss dynamic flex test - 24 hr height loss n/a % height loss 25% IFD loss n/a % IFD loss

This is all very technical data that means the foam we use in our cushions will hold their loft and will not compress over time like some filler products.

Flammability test# n/a UFAC filling/padding *unless otherwise stated, tested according to ASTM-D3574 # flammability tests are performed under controlled laboratory conditions. Results in no way indicates foam performance in an actual fire.

Polyurethane foam should be stored and handled with care. It should be kept away from sources of heat and flame at all times. Given these properties we reccomend using foam for indoor cushion versus outdoor cushions due to the moisture retention properties of foam, which can lead to mold and mildew in the event the foam gets wet and is not dried out quickly. This makes is ideal for indoor cushion, but not necessarily the ideal choice for outdoor cushions.
