Common Shipping Questions
Common Shipping Questions
Q: Why does shipping vary so much sometimes?A: One major factor in shipping is the size of the cushion. While a long cushion may not weight very much, it takes up lots of space. Both UPS and Fedex charge based on what is called dimensional weight, where the size of the object being shipped is taken into account. A cushion below the dimensional weight threshold can be shipped fairly inexpensively while one over the threshold can be very costly. We sometimes fold thinner cushions to help keep the cushion below this but that can produce creases in the cushion. These creases typically "relax" out on their own but some customers find that undesirable. If you have concerns about how your order will ship, please call us at 800-510-8325.
Another factor is LTL, or freight truckload. Large cushion orders (often above 10 cushions) or expensive cushion shipment estimates can lead us to send an order LTL. Oversize cushions (long, unfoldable cushions) will have to ship LTL as standard carriers will not ship them.
Q: Do you ship outside the US?
A: Yes, we have published some research into external services that provide US-based addresses. The providers are called Freight Forwarders because they will forward your US purchases from a central warehouse located in the US to your international location. These companies provide you with a US-based delivery address, which you can use as your shipping address for online purchases at Cushion Source or any other online store.

A: Yes, but you will need to call us to place your order. Keep in mind that not all orders can be shipped using those carriers.
